Emergency services in Oxfordshire responded to a significant fire near Stadhampton on Sunday evening, September 6.
A large column of smoke was visible rising from an agricultural building where hay bales had ignited.
Six fire crews arrived at the scene on the B480 at 7.01pm.
Upon reaching the location, firefighters collaborated with individuals present to create a fire break intended to prevent the flames from reaching additional hay bales stored nearby.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service issued an alert advising residents in the Chalgrove area to keep all windows and doors closed due to smoke drifting toward Little Milton.
The warning remained in effect as crews continued their operations through the night.
Personnel maintained their position at the site overnight, preserving the fire break and safeguarding neighbouring structures from the blaze.
The fire produced substantial volumes of smoke affecting the surrounding area.
Local residents were strongly encouraged to keep windows and doors sealed as a safety measure while emergency operations continued.
Firefighters were anticipated to remain deployed at the location throughout Monday.
