During the broadcast, Ms Margolyes demonstrated a imitation of co-presenter Christine Lampard’s Northern Irish brogue before directing questions toward Mr Peters.
She inquired what form of speech would be typical for him and sought clarification about his background.
Mr Peters responded by stating simply that he was himself.
Ms Margolyes then suggested that he possessed mixed heritage, noting that he had a black father and white mother.
The presenter subsequently clarified that both his parents were black.
