Boots recalls Love to Dream Sleep Machine over fire and burn risk

Published on

Boots has urged customers to cease use of a sleep machine immediately following the identification of a safety issue that has prompted a nationwide product withdrawal.

The Love to Dream Sleep Machine has been removed from all store shelves after investigations revealed that the device poses a burn hazard and a potential fire risk when charged with certain power adapters not included in the original packaging.

According to Boots, connecting the product to incompatible charging equipment may cause the lithium-ion battery to overheat, creating a fire hazard that could result in serious burns or property damage.

The products affected by this recall were available for purchase from January 2, 2025, through September 3, 2026.

Only three specific date codes are included in the recall: 7T12TN, 7W15TN, and 8P01TN.

These codes appear on the side of the machine itself or on the rear of the product packaging.

Customers who have already purchased this item have been advised to immediately discontinue use, disconnect it from any power source, and store it in a secure location away from flammable materials.

Further instructions for safe disposal and details regarding refunds or replacements are available through the official Love to Dream recall website.

The product must be disposed of according to local regulations for lithium-ion batteries and should not be placed in household waste or recycling containers.

A separate recall has been issued by skincare brand Simple for its Micellar Cleansing Water product range due to possible bacterial contamination capable of triggering eye inflammation.

The affected items include 200ml, 400ml, and 730ml bottles, with multiple batch codes affected across each size.

The recalled 200ml batches carry codes 610041, 611641, and 615941.

The 400ml variant includes batches 611141, 611341, 611441, 613341, 613441, 614541, 614741, and 614841.

The 730ml size has been recalled for batches 613841, 613941, 611041, 616641, and 616741.

The batch code appears on the base of each bottle, printed directly onto the packaging.

Simple has apologised to customers for any alarm caused by this recall and confirmed that no other products in their range are affected.

The company has urged anyone in possession of an affected bottle to stop using it immediately and contact their Consumer Careline via email to receive guidance and a refund.

Major retailers have also communicated with customers about these recalls.

Tesco has advised purchasers of affected batches to return the products to any store location for a complete refund without needing to provide a receipt.
