The German discount retailer Aldi has announced plans to establish 120 positions through the launch of four outlets throughout the United Kingdom throughout September.
One establishment has already commenced operations, with three additional locations scheduled to open during the remainder of the month.
The initial new outlet in Balsall Common, situated close to Solihull, welcomed its first customers on 3 September.
Another branch along Waterloo Road in Ketley Point, Telford, is slated to begin trading on 10 September.
A third establishment will open at Weir Retail Park in Rayleigh, Essex, on 17 September.
The final new store is set to launch at Hackney Road in Hoxton, London, on 20 September.
Approximately 30 positions will be on offer at each of the three locations yet to open, encompassing the Telford, Rayleigh and Hoxton sites.
The launches form part of a ÂŁ370 million capital injection allocated for new store development during the current year.
The company also harbours a long-term aspiration to maintain a portfolio of 1,500 outlets across Britain.
Jonathan Neale, who serves as Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, stated that the company recognises demand exists in numerous communities for access to an Aldi store, and significant efforts are underway to extend their competitive pricing to additional areas.
He noted that the schedule of launching a fresh outlet weekly throughout September showcases the velocity of their growth while simultaneously generating employment and providing high-quality, affordable provisions to a broader customer base.
Aldi traces its origins to a single establishment in Essen, Germany, which opened in 1913.
The company entered the British market for the first time in 1990.
The retailer now operates more than 1,080 stores across the United Kingdom, providing employment to in excess of 43,000 staff members.
