A fundraising event for Banbury Pride 2027 is scheduled to take place later this month.

The gathering will serve as the opening act for preparations leading up to next year’s celebration.

The fundraiser is set for Saturday, October 24, between 4pm and 7pm.

The venue selected is The Apothecary Tap on Butchers Row.

Those attending can expect a raffle alongside live performances from Red Texas, with Family of Noise providing support acts.

Representatives from the Banbury Pride organising committee expressed their vision for the event.

The committee aims to ensure Banbury Pride resonates with the entire local community.

Local enterprises, groups and residents are being sought to provide backing for the initiative.

The Apothecary Tap has arranged an afternoon of live music, and the Pride committee is pleased to collaborate on the fundraiser.

Organisers view this as an opportunity to enjoy an entertaining afternoon while contributing to a worthy cause and helping deliver a larger, more ambitious Pride event in 2027.

Participation is open to members of the LGBTQ+ community, allies and anyone who appreciates seeing Banbury flourish.

Rob, who operates The Apothecary Tap, stated that the establishment takes pride in supporting the fundraiser.

The venue is honoured to back Banbury Pride, which has introduced welcome vitality and energy to the town.

Pride events play a significant role in fostering an inclusive environment in Banbury, and the venue is pleased to contribute to the event’s growth.

The fundraiser signals the beginning of a broader campaign to fund next year’s Pride celebrations.

Both businesses and individuals are being invited to assist through sponsorship, financial contributions or by donating prizes for the raffle, such as vouchers, experiences or meals.

Planning for Banbury Pride 2027 is already in progress.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 29, with organisers committed to maintaining a central location within the town.

At a recent gathering held at Banbury Town Hall, residents voiced strong support for keeping Pride in the heart of the town.

Attendees highlighted the positive effects the event has had on community bonds and local commerce.

Building on the achievements of this year’s event, which attracted approximately 2,000 visitors, the organising team is considering extending into the Market Place area.

Additional live entertainment and community activities are also under consideration for the 2027 programme.

The organising committee emphasised the clear feedback received from the public meeting.

Pride should remain central to Banbury.

The celebration extends beyond a single day of festivities, serving instead as a means of uniting people, supporting the town centre and establishing something vibrant and welcoming for all to enjoy.

Organisers are committed to harnessing the unique spirit that Pride brings to Banbury and strengthening it for 2027.
