Plush Lounge in Frewin Court seeks 4am licence extension

Published on

A venue in Oxford has submitted plans to allow operations to continue until the early morning hours on select days of the week.

Plush Lounge, situated in Frewin Court, is seeking permission from Oxford City Council to expand the periods during which alcohol can be sold, cinematic content can be displayed, and performances including live and recorded music, dance, and miscellaneous entertainment can take place.

The request would permit activities to continue until 4am on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with operations permitted until 3am on remaining days.

Additionally, the establishment is proposing to serve late-night food and beverages between 11pm and 4am on those same days, and between those hours on other days when applicable.

Should the request receive approval, the venue would operate for an additional 30 minutes beyond the permitted activity periods.

Amendments would also be made to the existing licence conditions governing the premises.

Members of the public and other stakeholders have until October 30 to share their opinions with Oxford City Council’s licensing department.

The council’s documentation and the application files can be reviewed during standard office hours at the Town Hall or through the council’s online platforms.

The public notice, issued on October 9, outlines that making a false declaration in connection with such an application constitutes an offence potentially resulting in an unlimited financial penalty upon conviction.

The submission is being processed by Poppleston Allen, a legal practice headquartered in Nottingham.

The deadline for submitting representations regarding this application is October 30.
