A specialist educational establishment has been honoured for its dedication to supporting learners on the autism spectrum.
LVS Oxford was presented with the Excellence in Special Schools Award at the National SEND Awards 2026.
The accolade highlights the institution’s provision of an outstanding educational setting tailored to meet the requirements of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
Richard Daniel Curtis, chair of the National SEND Awards, remarked that the competition for this particular honour was fierce, with multiple distinguished specialist providers selected as finalists.
He noted that the evidence submitted to the judging panel clearly demonstrated that LVS Oxford had exceeded the standards set by the other finalists and was deserving of this recognition.
The judging panel described the submission as highly comprehensive and observed that LVS Oxford had demonstrated measurable, consistent results across all areas of the school environment.
Melanie Waller, executive principal at LVS Oxford, expressed profound gratitude for this national acknowledgement, stating that it underscores the unwavering commitment and skill demonstrated by the entire school community.
She emphasised that staff members consistently strive to maintain a supportive yet aspirational atmosphere where young people can flourish, build self-assurance and work towards their personal objectives.
Waller added that the institution takes considerable pride in its students, whose perseverance and accomplishments serve as a source of daily inspiration.
She concluded that the award also reflects the value of the robust collaborative relationships cultivated with parents and guardians, whose backing contributes significantly to the unique character of the school.
