Thames Valley Police offer free bike marking and Have Your Say session in Headington

Published on

Thames Valley Police is offering residents of Oxfordshire complimentary bicycle security measures as part of a crime prevention initiative.

Officers will be stationed along London Road in the Headington area on October 17 between 10:30am and midday.

The operation involves applying identification markings to bicycles and entering them into a registration database.

The security measures aim to deter potential thieves while increasing the likelihood of returning recovered stolen bicycles to their legitimate owners.

The session is designed to provide residents with direct access to neighbourhood policing teams, allowing them to raise matters of concern, report issues, or discuss priorities relevant to the area.

According to a Thames Valley Police statement, the force recently recovered a stolen bicycle and returned it to its owner using the bike registration application.
