A teenager from Oxford has made his first court appearance following allegations of a stabbing in a residential area of the city.
Ben Clifton, aged 19 and residing at an address on Montagu Road, faces charges of attempted murder and possession of a knife in a public setting.
The alleged assault took place during the early hours of September 19.
The defendant was brought before Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on September 21.
Custody was granted to the court, with the next stage of proceedings scheduled for Oxford Crown Court on October 23.
Emergency services attended the location at approximately 2am, with residents reporting a substantial emergency service presence throughout the night.
A 19-year-old individual was taken into custody at the scene.
A second man, aged 20, required hospital treatment.
According to a police representative, the victim sustained serious injuries that were not classified as life-threatening.
Medical staff attended to the individual, who was subsequently discharged from hospital.
The assault is being treated as a stabbing incident.
An exclusion zone remained in operation until the afternoon of September 19, with marks visible on the road surface.
One resident, aged 56, reported observing significant evidence of the incident in the street.
Additional witnesses described the arrival of specialist crime scene investigators and several police vehicles.
Ebony Harper, who was relocating to the street from Leicester for employment purposes, encountered the scene during the middle of the day.
The 21-year-old expressed surprise at the occurrence, describing it as unexpected for a neighbourhood characterised by its tranquility.
Another local resident, Jeff Parke, noted that the road terminates as a cul-de-sac and typically experiences minimal disturbance.
Ms Sudworth described the event as profoundly distressing and difficult to comprehend, particularly given the peaceful nature of the surrounding area.
