Cash payments will be suspended at parking terminals across Oxfordshire for a period of approximately two weeks beginning at the end of September.
The temporary measure will impact facilities managed by Vale of White Horse District Council, with up to 13 parking sites affected.
The council confirmed the changes on Monday, September 21, indicating that the cash suspension would run from Monday, September 28 through Tuesday, October 6.
According to the authority, new ticket machines are being deployed across all 13 of its car parks located in Abingdon, Faringdon and Wantage.
During the installation window between September 28 and October 6, cash transactions will not be possible at the machines.
Drivers will retain the ability to pay using bank cards and the PayByPhone application throughout this period.
A text-based payment method will also be available, with instructions displayed on the machines at each location.
Once the rollout concludes on October 6, the upgraded terminals will support cash, card and PayByPhone payments.
