Oxford is preparing for significant traffic disruptions as the Oxford Half Marathon approaches.
A series of road closures will be implemented across the city, with restrictions beginning on October 10 and extending through October 11.
Oxfordshire County Council has arranged a special order to enable the event, which is being staged by Motiv Sports (UK) Limited.
The programme commences with the Schools Challenge Race at 8.30am, followed by the main Half Marathon Race at 9.30am.
All closures are set to be removed during the afternoon period, with the start and finish zones fully reopened by 9pm.
The enforcement measures include prohibition of access, waiting, and loading or unloading in designated areas.
Some sections will additionally operate under one-way traffic arrangements.
On October 10, Mansfield Road, Saville Road, Holywell Street, and Jowett Walk will be closed from 9am.
The following day brings broader restrictions, with South Parks Road, St Cross Road, Longwall Street, and Radcliffe Square inaccessible from 6am until 4pm.
High Street between Magdalen Bridge and King Edward Street will be closed from 8am to 11.30am, while Magdalen Street East and the southbound carriageway of St Giles face restrictions from 7.30am to 11.30am.
Banbury Road and Marston Ferry Road will remain closed until various afternoon times.
Parks Road, Museum Road, Blackhall Road, Keble Road, and the section of Turl Street between Broad Street and Ship Street will all be shut from 6am to 4pm.
Magdalen Bridge falls under the same 6am to 4pm closure window.
Temporary two-way traffic arrangements will be introduced on South Parade, Oakthorpe Road, and Thorncliffe Road.
Traffic management will be handled by marshals, with certain traffic signals potentially deactivated to assist vehicle movement.
