Police in Oxford are urging a cyclist involved in a collision with an elderly woman to make contact with investigators.
Emergency services responded to reports of an incident involving a bicycle rider and a pedestrian on St Mary’s Road in Oxford on the evening of Wednesday, September 16, at approximately 7.40pm.
A 77-year-old female pedestrian sustained injuries described as serious, including a fractured rib and lacerations.
She received hospital treatment before being released.
According to officers, the bicycle rider initially stayed at the location following the collision but departed without supplying personal particulars.
Descriptions indicate the cyclist was a white female under 40 years of age, with a tall and slender build and blonde hair worn in a bob cut.
A safety helmet, potentially grey or black in shade, was worn along with a backpack.
The bicycle was identified as a large-framed racing model, possibly in dark green or black.
PC Jake Schulz, the lead investigator, stated that the rider possesses information significant to the inquiry and should make contact with authorities.
Members of the public who witnessed the occurrence have also been asked to provide accounts.
