A Banbury establishment has appealed to local parents to stop using its private parking area for school drop-offs and pick-ups.
The Barley Mow pub, located on Warwick Road next to North Oxfordshire Academy, has distributed what it describes as a courteous request to guardians of pupils at the nearby school.
The venue stated that its patrons have faced verbal abuse during altercations with parents over the use of the car park.
In comments published on social media, the pub requested that parents treat the establishment with the same consideration it extends to them.
The statement explained that designated parking spaces should be used and the entrance to the premises should remain unobstructed by queuing vehicles.
The car park occupies private land belonging to the business and is designated for customer use only.
However, the owner indicated that parents may continue using the facility provided they adhere to the specified parking guidelines.
A representative for the venue added that any further instances of verbal aggression directed at guests would result in access being revoked through enforcement measures.
The establishment has also confirmed that discussions with North Oxfordshire Academy regarding the situation have taken place.
The matter follows a similar incident in 2011, when students at Cumnor School in Oxford launched a campaign to address parents obstructing access to the Vines pub in their area after multiple hazardous incidents occurred.
