Thames Water anticipates restoring two-way vehicle movement on a bridge along Botley Road prior to the weekend.
Network Rail workers will resume road access at the railway overpass early on Sunday.

Questions had arisen regarding whether construction on the nearby Osney Bridge would meet the deadline for reopening, though current indications suggest the project nears completion, allowing bidirectional traffic flow.
An Environment Agency vessel damaged a water main beneath Osney Bridge during April 2021, prompting Thames Water to undertake remedial work that has continued since that incident.
The utility firm’s original programme was slated to continue until October, with vehicle access restricted to a single lane regulated by portable signals.
Subsequently, Thames Water announced acceleration of the programme, and operatives at Osney Bridge confirmed on Thursday September 17 that dual-direction traffic was anticipated to resume from Friday September 18.
Osney Bridge had implemented closures affecting one traffic lane, the cycleway, and the footway along its northern flank, with three-phase signalling governing vehicle movement between the Botley Road barrier, Abbey Road, and Osney island.
Failure to reinstate two-way traffic would result in substantial congestion along Botley Road once the main route becomes operational.
Remediation at Osney Bridge had originally been earmarked for completion during the summer months before Thames Water indicated personnel required additional time.
The company has been invited to provide comment.

A replacement railway bridge was positioned in February.

The Botley Road scheme experienced multiple setbacks, with expenditure increasing from £161m to £237m.
