A planned theatrical production in the British capital has been abandoned following the withdrawal of its lead performers.

The revival of the Sondheim musical, which draws inspiration from Georges Seurat’s renowned pointillist artwork, will not proceed as originally intended.

The production was scheduled to debut at the Barbican venue in 2027.

The show, which premiered in 1984, had been due to feature both actors known for their roles in the film adaptation of the musical Wicked.

The production company confirmed the cancellation on the fourteenth of September.

Representatives stated that the rights would be maintained with intentions to stage the production the following year instead.

Additional information is expected to be released subsequently.

The development occurred after the American performer announced through representatives that she would be temporarily stepping away from public visibility.

The British actor subsequently confirmed his departure from the project.

The actor, whose birthplace was Oxfordshire in 1988, was raised in a family household that included his parents and three elder sisters.

His educational background consisted of attendance at a Church of England primary institution in Benson, followed by enrolment at a private Catholic boarding establishment in Woodcote, where he pursued ballet instruction.

A subsequent music scholarship enabled him to continue his studies at an Oxford-based institution, where he studied piano and clarinet.

According to media reports, the actor expressed anticipation regarding the future creative team’s interpretation of the material while offering his best wishes to all involved in the production.
