A serious incident on the M4 motorway has resulted in significant disruption for drivers travelling westbound through the Chieveley area this morning.
Emergency services attended the scene following a collision near junction 13, where the motorway intersects with the A34.
The crash led to a fuel spillage and scattered debris across the carriageway, prompting authorities to close two lanes to traffic.
Motorists experienced considerable delays as a result, with westbound journeys taking in excess of 30 minutes longer than usual.
Vehicles were moving at approximately 10mph through the affected section.
The A34 remained unaffected by the lane closures, with traffic flow on that route continuing as normal.
Transport officials are expected to provide further updates as the situation develops.
