A surprise appearance by Dizzee Rascal at a Oxfordshire community festival generated excitement among attendees over the weekend.
The grime artist, known for his 2004 hit Bonkers, was seen at The Boat House pub in Wallingford during Bunkfest, an annual free folk festival drawing approximately 30,000 visitors annually.
The encounter was reported by the BBC.
Patrons at the establishment approached the musician for photographs.
One festival-goer informed the BBC that the rapper purchased two burgers after enjoying the first so much, describing him as relaxed and friendly.
Twenty-three-year-old spectator Charlie Garwood expressed surprise at the unexpected sighting, noting that such a prominent figure would appear in a small town setting.
The performer had previously occupied the Friday evening headline position at Pub in the Park, held at Higginson Park in Marlow during 2025.
However, no performance was scheduled for this year’s Wallingford event.
Sources indicated he was in the area to see a friend.
Bunkfest ran from Friday August 4 through Sunday August 6, featuring more than 170 performers across 20 different locations throughout the town.
The weekend’s major acts comprised The Delicate Sound of Pink Floyd on the opening evening, Dr Feelgood performing on Saturday, and Blue Water Giants closing the festival on Sunday.
