Thames Valley Air Ambulance has launched a new initiative offering supporters the opportunity to display messages on the charity’s helicopter.
The campaign aims to generate essential funding for the organisation, which operates without regular National Health Service or government financial assistance.
The scheme permits supporters to designate their own name or use the space to honour another individual, whether to mark a celebration, acknowledge recovery or remember someone no longer living.
The aircraft will accommodate up to 1,000 names.
Each name will represent a unique narrative of hope, thankfulness or loss.
Captain Jim, a pilot with the organisation, explained that while the team cannot predict who may require their services next, continued support from the public makes their operations possible.
Every name added to the helicopter serves as a visible reminder of the community standing behind each flight, enabling advanced critical care to reach those experiencing critical emergencies.
The arrangement provides a meaningful way for supporters to accompany the crew mentally during every departure.
Each mission undertaken by the helicopter carries an average expense of £3,817.
Registration for the scheme closes on 31 October 2026, with names due to be applied during the aircraft’s scheduled annual maintenance in January 2027.
