Oxford Magistrates’ Court recorded the following cases during the latest session: An 18-year-old from Mayseys Close in Headington admitted to multiple road traffic and drug possession offences.
The defendant failed to comply with an officer’s direction to halt, operated a Sur-Ron motorcycle without third-party coverage and without holding a valid licence, and was found with cannabis during the same incident at William Morris Close on March 1.
The court imposed costs of £85 alongside a £100 financial penalty.
The controlled substance was ordered to be destroyed.
A 31-year-old residing in Netherwoods Road, Headington, entered a guilty plea for shop theft in Oxford on February 22.
Items to the value of £43.70 were taken.
The magistrate ordered payment of £50 in costs and granted a six-month conditional discharge.
Karl Wiskin, aged 44 and living at Camm Drive in Milton, Abingdon, faced two counts of retail theft occurring on June 10 and June 18 in Oxford.
The stolen merchandise totalled £248.08 in value.
The defendant also acknowledged failing to appear at a police station as required on August 27.
Compensation of £130.95 was awarded.
Benjamin Brummitt, 31, of Boxhedge Road in Banbury, was found guilty of assaulting an officer in Banbury on May 15.
A 12-week immediate custodial sentence was imposed but suspended for one year.
Additionally, the defendant was directed to undertake 12 months of treatment for alcohol dependency and pay £85 in costs.
John Twist, 44 and residing on Cowley Road in Oxford, pleaded guilty to obstructing an officer and stealing goods worth £6.75 from an Oxford retailer on June 10.
Financial penalties comprised £85 in costs, a £16 victim surcharge, a £40 fine, and £6.75 in compensation.
Daniel Peck, 36, of Cromwell Road in Banbury, admitted to common assault upon a police officer in Banbury on June 17.
The court ordered payment of £85 in costs, a £114 victim surcharge, and £100 compensation.
The defendant was further directed to complete six months of alcohol rehabilitation and adhere to the supervising officer’s appointment requirements for up to five days.
Thomas Tuckey, 27 and from Church Street in Helmdon, Brackley, was convicted of drug driving in a Volkswagen Golf along Station Road in Ardley on February 24.
Financial penalties included £85 in costs, a £138 victim surcharge, and a £346 fine.
A 12-month prohibition from driving was also applied.
Thomas Buckingham, 49 and living at Burwell Drive in Witney, admitted to failing to provide a breath specimen for testing at Abingdon Police Station on June 19.
The court imposed costs of £85, a £160 victim surcharge, and a £400 fine.
A 12-month driving ban was imposed.
Charles Clark, 25 and from Masons Road in Headington, was found guilty of driving while over the legal alcohol limit in a Vauxhall Astra on St Aldates, Oxford, on June 20.
The reading recorded 64 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
The magistrate ordered costs of £85, a £88 victim surcharge, and a £221 fine.
An 18-month driving ban was imposed, though this period could be reduced by 18 weeks upon successful completion of an approved course by August 23 the following year.
