Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell has revealed details about the birth of her son Bowden, who she welcomed with partner Joe Sugg in March.
The 37-year-old dancer has been sharing updates about new motherhood through her YouTube channel.
In an interview, Buswell described the experience as frightening, explaining that she had hoped for a natural delivery but ultimately required an emergency caesarean section.
She confessed to being particularly anxious about losing sensation in her legs.
Following the surgical procedure, the performer found movement extremely difficult and frequently needed assistance from Sugg to stand up.
During the nights, she would call for her partner to help her reach the bathroom because her abdominal muscles were too weak to allow her to get out of bed independently.
She recalled being in significant discomfort and described the ordeal as a profound shock to her body.
Despite the challenging physical recovery, Buswell stated that the experience had not deterred her from expanding her family in the future.
During the 2025 series of Strictly Come Dancing, Buswell participated while pregnant and faced considerable criticism from viewers.
Medical professionals had approved her participation, though she acknowledged acting against their recommendations when she decided to perform.
She responded to harsh online remarks, including comments suggesting they could no longer watch the programme due to a pregnant dancer performing acrobatic movements, by dismissing the negativity.
Buswell is set to appear in the upcoming series, though it remains unclear whether she will be partnered with a celebrity contestant.
Five newcomers will join the established professional roster: Aleksandra Isaeva, Cristian Priori, Lethabo Monametsi, Maddie Ingoldsby, and Mark Karmalita.
Buswell expressed enthusiasm about the new additions, noting they bring fresh dynamism to the production and describing meeting them as an enjoyable experience.
