A pair of highly regarded Americana performers are set to embark on a joint tour across the country.
The Annie Keating Band, originating from Brooklyn, will unite with Oxfordshire-based collective The Dreaming Spires for what promises to be a transatlantic celebration of country-rock and Americana music.
A performance has been scheduled for Friday, October 9 at the Snug Barn in Wallingford, Oxfordshire.
The two artists aim to present two and a half decades of combined songwriting expertise and musical narrative.
The Dreaming Spires’ inaugural full-length release, titled Brothers in Brooklyn, drew creative influence from experiences in the New York borough where Keating’s musical career began.
Keating herself has established herself as a defining figure within Britain’s contemporary Americana landscape, with support from the celebrated broadcaster Bob Harris.
Jamie Dawson, who provides percussion for The Dreaming Spires, maintains an additional touring commitment with The Annie Keating Band, ensuring natural musical cohesion between the two acts.
The Dreaming Spires’ core members Robin and Joe Bennett will contribute their characteristic sibling vocal harmonies and ringing guitar textures, while Keating presents her acclaimed gritty folk-rock style alongside collaborators Joe Coombs and Scott Warman.
A tour spokesperson indicated that each concert featuring these performers would deliver an energetic Friday evening atmosphere irrespective of scheduling, lifting audience spirits considerably.
Both collectives previously appeared on the same bill during the previous year, receiving complimentary coverage in regional press.
The spokesperson noted that their experimental pairing twelve months prior generated enthusiastic reviews in the local press, which described the event as an outstanding evening of American-influenced music.
