The son of a former professional footballer and another man have died in the United Arab Emirates.
Cassius Newton, aged 34, from Poole in Dorset, and Aran Martinson, aged 33, from Essex, were discovered deceased on July 18 in the mountainous area of Wadi Naqab in the UAE.
Emergency personnel located their bodies during a rescue operation in the desert region.
Formal inquests into both deaths were initiated last month at Chelmsford.
Both individuals had been residing in the Middle Eastern nation at the time of their passing.
Cassius Newton was the child of Eddie Newton, a former Chelsea FC player who represented the west London club during the 1990s.
Following his departure from Chelsea, the midfielder had brief stints with several clubs, including Oxford United, where he made seven appearances in a defensive midfield role.
The elder Newton concluded his playing career in 2001, with a persistent knee complaint contributing to his retirement.
He subsequently transitioned into coaching and management, serving as assistant manager at Chelsea and later as manager of Turkish club Trabzonspor.
According to reports, the two men embarked on a walk together through a desert valley, with ambient temperatures probably exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.
During the initial inquest hearings, the provisional medical cause of death for both individuals was documented as cardiac and respiratory arrest.
On Mr Martinson’s LinkedIn profile, his wife posted a link to the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young, describing it as important to her husband.
She stated that colleagues should recall him not only for his professional achievements but also for his character, describing him as humorous, compassionate, faithful, resolute and someone capable of bringing laughter to those around him.
