The production originates from Big Talk Studios in partnership with That Mitchell and Webb Company, with additional involvement from BritBox and ZDF in a co-production arrangement.

Their plans unravel when a power failure plunges the establishment into darkness, transforming their retreat into a confined setting where a murder investigation becomes necessary.
Stranded by severe winter conditions and unable to contact the wider world, those present at the hotel find themselves spending an evening in the company of an unknown killer.
As John becomes reluctantly involved in what proves to be an extraordinarily unusual case, the Taylor family must identify the perpetrator before the Christmas period arrives.
Foggin occupies the director’s chair for this production, having also been tasked with helming the upcoming third series.
Brotherhood serves as both writer and executive producer, with Allen and Welch also executive producing for Big Talk Studios.
Mitchell himself features among the executive producers, alongside Sussman and O’Connor.
