Hawkstone Farmers Choir announce 18-venue UK tour after BGT win

A 40-strong choir made up of agricultural workers from across the United Kingdom is preparing to take its act on the road following their triumph on a primetime ITV talent show.

The Hawkstone Farmers Choir, who secured victory on Britain’s Got Talent, will visit 18 venues nationwide during March and April 2027, with the London Palladium among the confirmed locations.

A performance has been arranged at The New Theatre in Oxford for Saturday, April 10.

David Smith, who served as a seed specialist and advisor before his retirement and resides in Middleton Cheney near Banbury, shared his reaction to the upcoming schedule of appearances.

The choir spokesperson Ted Howard-Jones, who farms in the Chilterns region, voiced similar anticipation while acknowledging that some participants may face scheduling conflicts during the lambing season.

The ensemble originally assembled to promote Jeremy Clarkson’s Hawkstone Lager product line.

Following positive experiences performing together, the decision was made to enter the ITV1 competition.

After receiving Amanda Holden’s Golden Buzzer, the group went on to win the series after impressing viewers with an emotional display.

Throughout their time on the programme, the farming members recounted personal experiences while drawing attention to the value of community connections within an industry confronting mental health difficulties.

The group has also received recognition at the highest levels.

Both Clarkson’s Farm and Britain’s Got Talent have secured nominations for the National Television Awards, which takes place on September 8 at the O2 in London, where the choir will be present.

Subsequent engagements include an appearance at the British Farming Awards in Birmingham before the schedule concludes with a Royal Variety Performance, a prize awarded as part of their television victory.

James Florey, who manages a family farming operation spanning four generations in Northmoor near Witney, outlined the significance of the upcoming concerts.

The tour aims to reinforce their advocacy for mental wellbeing within farming and agricultural sectors, demonstrating how brief respite from farm responsibilities can yield positive effects.

The members have established that even those engaged in challenging professions can pursue fresh experiences and possibilities.
