Summer scenes at golf courses beneath clear blue skies make for wonderful nostalgic memories – here are 13 old photographs capturing the sport and its enthusiasts.

These vintage images reveal how Oxfordshire boasts numerous golf facilities, with links spanning from Thame to Kidlington, Waterstock to Burford and further afield.

The region actually contains over 30 courses where enthusiastic players gather for various events throughout the year.

This collection showcases some of the photographic highlights from the county’s courses over the past twenty years.

The photographs depict players collecting donations for worthy causes, securing competition victories or campaigning to preserve their cherished green areas from construction.

There is even one image displaying a course transformed into a sledding slope when snow blanketed the fairway.
