Extensive road improvement works are due to commence on Milton Road in Didcot today.

Oxfordshire County Council is undertaking the scheme, which kicks off today with an anticipated finish on December 25.

The authority has designated the scheme as a major road improvement project, signalling significant activity beyond standard upkeep.

All operations will take place on the road itself, meaning solely vehicle lanes will face disruption.

Pedestrian pathways and roadside grass areas should stay accessible throughout.

Temporary multi-way traffic lights will be positioned to manage vehicle flow at impacted stretches during this period.

Commuters should prepare for intermittent stops and diminished road space, especially during busy travel periods.

The eastbound lane will feature provisional traffic signalling from Monday, July 27 through Sunday, August 9, affecting a 100-metre stretch east of the junction towards the power station.

Between Monday, August 10 and Friday, December 25, traffic will operate via a contraflow system along the identical stretch.

The works may encompass surface renewal, structural maintenance, or design alterations tied to wider Didcot transport upgrades.
