Wantage Leisure Centre turns 50 with open weekend celebrations

Wantage Leisure Centre is marking its half-century milestone with a special weekend celebration.

Between Friday 22 May and Sunday 24 May, the facility will open its doors to current members and newcomers alike, providing complimentary activities including introductory gym sessions, collective fitness courses, and pickleball.

Originally launched in 1976, the centre has undergone continuous transformation throughout the years to accommodate the expanding town and nearby communities.

Wantage Leisure Centre now provides an extensive selection of offerings, ranging from aquatics instruction to health club subscriptions.

Vale of White Horse District Council has revealed plans to invest £982,000 to enhance the centre’s amenities further.
