Cotswold Wildlife Park has earned a place among the contenders for a top family experience prize.

The Burford-based attraction is among 10 hopefuls in the Muddy Stilettos Awards competition.

The wildlife reserve is standing alongside Blenheim Palace, Bletchley Park, Chiltern Open Air Museum and Millets Farm Centre in the regional awards.

Also in the running are the Oxford Museum of Natural History, Oxford Castle and Prison, The Story Museum, Waddesdon Manor and Xscape in Milton Keynes.

A baby White Rhino named Mo was photographed with mother Ruby shortly after being born at the park.

The park and gardens secured the titles of Cotswolds Best Attraction and Cotswolds Best Family Attraction in the 2025 Cotswold Awards.

Over recent years, the venue has held the UK Best Zoo crown for two consecutive years, as well as picking up Best Family Attraction honours at both the Muddy Stilettos Awards and Little Ankle Biters’ Awards.

It was also named Best Animal Attraction at the 2023 Red Kite Days Oxfordshire Awards.

Members of the public have until Tuesday, May 26 to cast their votes online.

The awards have added fresh lifestyle sections covering categories such as top afternoon tea, fashion and interiors, artisan food and drink producer, favourite local pub and wellness retreats.

Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens houses more than 1,500 creatures representing 250 distinct species, placing it among the UK’s largest zoological collections.

Additional park facilities include a narrow gauge railway and the Skymaze adventure playground.

The venue, which first opened its gates in 1970, spans 160 acres of designed parkland and gardens and received over 460,000 guests in 2022.
