A hospice charitable organisation has begun twelve months of fundraising and activities to commemorate its 30th anniversary.

Kate’s Home Nursing, located in Bourton-on-the-Water, has been providing hospice-at-home services throughout the North Cotswolds since 1996.

The organisation delivers terminal care, grief assistance, and caregiver support to those preferring to spend their remaining time in their own residences.

To observe this occasion, members of the public are invited to contribute through financial gifts, fundraising initiatives, and community gatherings. Noteworthy events planned for the year feature an Open Gardens collection and a gathering on a sports field in August.

Helen Makaritis, chief executive of Kate’s Home Nursing, stated that this commemoration represents both an opportunity to acknowledge the tremendous backing received from the local area over the past three decades and a moment to look forward. With increasing need for home-based hospice services, the aim is to guarantee Kate’s Home Nursing can keep assisting local families for many years ahead.

The organisation requires approximately £700,000 annually to maintain its operations.

Ms Makaritis noted that each contribution, sponsorship arrangement, raffle donation, and fundraising activity assists in delivering compassionate hospice care within the community for patients and relatives across the North Cotswolds, both now and subsequently.

A dedicated online portal for the 30th anniversary has been established, containing suggestions for fundraising, hosting occasions, and participation methods. Helpers are also sought to assist with functions throughout the twelve months.
