A wildlife television presenter has urged the Prime Minister to bring forward legislation preventing hunting trophies from entering Britain.

The small screen personality has fronted the nature documentary series for fifteen years and earlier appeared on The Really Wild Show and Wide Awake Club.

She finished as runner-up in the recent ITV ice dancing competition, teamed with professional ice dancer Mark Hanretty.

Michaela’s offspring is employed at the Oxford football club, which she supports through her child. She spoke to the Oxford Mail in March.

That conversation occurred ahead of her theatrical tour, which had been arranged for the previous month and included a performance in the nearby town of Newbury.

Currently, the broadcaster has approached the Prime Minister regarding a trophy hunting ban following pledges made in 2024.

The television personality put her name to a letter dispatched to the Prime Minister endorsing the introduction of the ban, alongside other well-known personalities such as Brian Cox, Dame Judi Dench, Bill Bailey and Miriam Margolyes.

Via her social media platforms on Thursday, May 14, the presenter stated that she had added her signature to correspondence forwarded to Keir Starmer requesting the trophy hunting prohibition he pledged in 2024 be enacted immediately. She asked others to sign and share the petition at http://BanTrophyHunting.org to demonstrate their backing.

The Springwatch presenter republished a message from the Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting, which declared that the government has confirmed a restriction on trophy hunting imports will NOT be included in the forthcoming King’s Speech. Public figures have approached the Prime Minister requesting the administration reconsider its position.

Additional high-profile backers of the prohibition include Ricky Gervais, Charles Dance, Chris Kamara, David Essex, Jeff Stelling, Keeley Hawes and Joanna Lumley.
