An Oxford-based legal practice has launched a dedicated Spanish service to address increasing demand from clients.

The Burnside Partnership, headquartered in Combe, has created this specialised desk to help customers with Spanish connections, including property matters and permission to live abroad.

The launch coincides with the appointment of Yolanda Pérez Berges, a linguist lawyer with more than 17 years of experience working in both the United Kingdom and Spain.

She is admitted to practice by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority and the Madrid Bar Association.

Ms Pérez Berges said she was delighted to join The Burnside Partnership as it expands its overseas services, particularly across Europe. She explained that her role involves bridging the gap between the two jurisdictions and helping customers with cross-border requirements through a cohesive, hands-on method.

The new department will provide guidance on international estate planning, tax concerns, administration of estates, property transactions, residence documentation, and overseas family law issues.

Della Burnside, the firm’s managing partner, noted that Spain has become a significant location for their customers, and establishing a purpose-built Spanish desk is a natural development. She indicated that with Yolanda joining the team, they can deliver thorough support to those seeking advice on matters spanning both Britain and Spain. She expressed enthusiasm about welcoming Yolanda and strengthening their international expertise.

The Burnside Partnership, which also operates from offices in Marlow and the capital, was founded in 2015 by Oxford solicitor Anna Burnside.
