An establishment in Ardington, close to Wantage, will shut its doors this week.
The Grocer Chef located in Ardington will cease operations on Wednesday, 29 April.
The venue will welcome new owners and resume business on Tuesday, 5 May.
Keith and Maria Greig, who operate The Grocer Chef in Ardington near Wantage, disclosed this week that they are stepping away from the business.
In their Facebook announcement, they stated “We are open today (Monday 27th), this Tuesday 28th & Wednesday 29th & then we are closed until next Tuesday 5th May, re-opening under new ownership.”
The tea room and countryside store provides various offerings including frozen treats, traditional cream teas, morning beverages, midday meals, and baked potatoes.
When COVID-19 restrictions were in place, the restaurant narrowly avoided permanent shutdown after an urgent social media appeal during the final lockdown attracted overwhelming community support, with customers forming lengthy lines to patronize the establishment.
