Three bus routes serving southern Oxford are being restructured.

The modifications take effect starting Sunday, May 3, representing upgrades to Oxford’s public transportation system.

These adjustments come after Oxfordshire County Council conducted a statutory consultation in late 2025.

According to the council, ridership patterns have changed substantially since the pandemic, with certain lines operating significantly below capacity while others continue to experience high passenger volumes.

The route 600 bus, which connects the city centre, Redbridge, Kassam Stadium, Leys, Cowley, Churchill, John Radcliffe Hospital, and Thornhill, will undergo changes.

Oxford Bus Company services traveling to Oxford city centre will operate on an hourly basis during weekdays.

The initial departure will occur from the Lidl store in Cowley at 6.30am, with the final service departing from Thornhill Park and Ride at 11pm.

Services heading to Thornhill Park and Ride will also run hourly. The first bus departs from Redbridge Park and Ride at 6.04am, while the last service leaves Oxford city centre at 10.20pm.

Stagecoach routes 800 and 900 are also scheduled for modifications beginning May 3.

Route 800, which covers Yarnton, the airport, Oxford Parkway, the city centre, Redbridge Park and Ride, and Cowley, is anticipated to commence operations at 6.47am from Oxford Parkway, with services running every 30 minutes.

Route 900, serving Oxford Parkway, the city centre, Redbridge Park and Ride, and Kassam Stadium, is set to begin from Yarnton at 7.07am, also with half-hourly services.

Both routes are expected to have later start times and earlier end times on weekends.
