A high-ranking Thames Valley police officer has spoken publicly after reports emerged of a terror-related incident in London where two Jewish men were stabbed.

The two casualties, aged 76 and 34, are reported to be in a stable condition at a nearby medical facility following the purported assault that took place on Highfield Avenue in Golders Green on Wednesday morning.

Officers deployed a taser and detained a 45-year-old individual during the confrontation, with police indicating they thought the suspect might have been in possession of an explosive device.

In the wake of Wednesday’s events, Assistant Chief Constable Christian Bunt delivered a message to the community on behalf of Thames Valley Police.

He confirmed that they had received notification regarding the terror attack that occurred in Golders Green, North London earlier that day.

As a result, additional officers would be stationed throughout the Thames Valley region to provide reassurance and support to Jewish communities.
