One of the air ambulance service’s helicopters was dispatched to a critical care incident in Oxford, according to the organization.

The aircraft was observed flying over Osney Mead in the city just after 2pm on Wednesday.

The helicopter had responded from Botley, where it handled an emergency call in that area shortly before 1pm.

The aircraft then travelled over Oxford, Headington and Stanton St John, reversing its course at Horton-cum-Studley before proceeding to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington.

It touched down at the hospital shortly before 2.30pm.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Air Ambulance stated: “We can confirm that our helicopter was dispatched to provide advanced critical care at an incident in Oxford today.”

No further information about the incident has been released.
