Barclays and Tesco have announced a new deal which will give motorists 5% cashback on petrol and diesel purchases this summer.
The offer runs from May 1 to July 31 and applies to fuel spend between £5 and £200 at Tesco filling stations, when using an eligible Barclays debit card.
The timing is no accident, landing just as bank holiday getaways begin and fuel costs remain under pressure.
How to get cashback on petrol and diesel with Tesco and Barclays
Once signed up through the Barclays app, cashback is typically paid within a couple of days and appears directly in customers’ accounts.
The move comes as fuel spending continues to rise, putting pressure on household budgets despite broader confidence in finances.
Cashback is capped at £10 per month, but given current fuel prices, any extra money in drivers’ pockets is a welcome boost.
