A Cotswold resident appearing on the reality programme Gogglebox has revealed an unexpected link to a well-known film star.

The long-running show follows numerous families as they watch and react to television programmes from the comfort of their own homes.

Channel 4 introduced five fresh families and friendship groups from across the United Kingdom to the most recent series of Gogglebox last year.

The new cast included a married couple: 62-year-old Andrew and 32-year-old Alfie, who live in the Cotswolds region, and quickly became audience favourites.

Viewers have now discovered that the pair are close acquaintances of celebrated Hollywood actress Rose McGowan.

The American performer and activist rose to fame during the 1990s through roles in films such as Scream and Jawbreaker.

She is best known for her television work portraying Paige Matthews in the fantasy programme Charmed, which ran from 2001 until 2006.

Across her cinematic career, she has appeared in productions including The Doom Generation, Grindhouse (which encompasses Planet Terror and Death Proof), The Black Dahlia, and Conan the Barbarian.

Andrew posted several photographs featuring McGowan alongside Alfie on Instagram, describing it as a wonderful reunion with Rose McGowan.

McGowan responded to the post, sharing that she and Andrew first met on a beach and have shared moments of joy, sadness, and joy again. She expressed her love for him and excitement at finally meeting Alfie, noting that seeing him on Gogglebox came as a complete surprise and prompted her to reconnect with him. She said she was overjoyed that they had found each other again.
