An Oxfordshire primary school is currently undergoing an emergency closure lasting approximately one month, with its full reopening now on the horizon.

Records from the Oxfordshire County Council website indicate that St Edmund’s Catholic Primary School has suspended afternoon sessions beginning Monday, April 6.

The institution sits on Radley Road in Abingdon and operates as a voluntary aided Catholic school, sponsored by Portsmouth Diocese and administered by Oxfordshire County Council.

The school typically welcomes roughly 30 new students annually to its reception year and employs more than 20 staff members.

Officials have not disclosed the cause of the closure, though instruction has been limited to the morning hours, with the school closing at 1:30 p.m. each day and resuming normal operations in the mornings.

The closure was uploaded to the county council website on Tuesday, April 28, with full operations expected to resume Thursday, May 7.
