The identities of local representatives who may have sway over Jeremy Clarkson’s Cotswolds establishment in Oxfordshire have been made public.

The former Top Gear and Grand Tour host has resided in Oxfordshire for a number of years, operating Diddly Squat Farm situated in Chadlington.

Approximately two years ago, he expanded his ventures by acquiring The Windmill pub in Asthall for £1,000,000, subsequently changing its name to The Farmer’s Dog.

Following renovations, the establishment welcomed its first patrons in August 2024 and has since drawn consistent crowds.

In its brief history, the pub has faced several planning matters, most recently concerning additional parking facilities.

This mirrors the situation with Diddly Squat, where numerous disputes with West Oxfordshire District Council have arisen.

Recently, the roster of candidates vying for positions in the forthcoming local elections has been released.

Residents of West Oxfordshire will cast their votes on Thursday, May 7, with the contest covering one-third of the council seats and one position in each of 16 wards.

The candidates seeking office in the Burford district, which lies in proximity to The Farmer’s Dog, have also been announced prior to next week’s voting.

Natalie Jane Baker represents the Green Party, Leslie Barbera Channon is the Liberal Democrat candidate, and Nick Field-Johnson is running under the Local Conservatives banner.

Nathaniel Robert Miles will stand for the Labour Party, while James David Poxon is the Reform UK contender.

This provides insight into which officials Mr Clarkson might need to consult should additional proposals emerge.
