An Oxfordshire-based member of staff from a charitable organisation finished the London Marathon while collecting substantial donations for children and teenagers with complex requirements.

Mark Mederson and Brandon Milburn participated in the 26.2-mile race to gather financial support for Prior’s Court, a Berkshire-based organisation offering assistance to autistic young individuals.

Mr Mederson, operating from Oxfordshire, holds the position of head of care and has spent 12 years working at Prior’s Court.

Both competitors underwent months of rigorous training and fundraising activities, accumulating almost £6,500 with Gift Aid contributions included.

He said completing the course fills him with tremendous pride, and he is grateful for the fantastic donations received. He described it as an unforgettable journey and said he appreciates everyone who contributed and offered encouragement throughout this undertaking. He chose Prior’s Court’s Enriching Experiences campaign for his fundraising because it will offer young people remarkable chances and he believes it genuinely merits support.

Some of Mr Mederson’s fundraising originated from a prize draw offering attractive rewards including hotel stays, supplementary holiday entitlements, and numerous other products.

Natalie Norris, Prior’s Court’s fundraising manager, said Mark and Brandon deserve tremendous credit for taking on such a demanding feat to assist Prior’s Court. She said watching them compete in person was a joy, especially given their dedication and thorough preparation. She thanked Mark and Brandon for their achievement, which she said will truly transform the lives of the young autistic people with complex needs whom the organisation serves.
