Published on

A driver has received a financial penalty exceeding £250 after confessing to operating a vehicle on a pedestrian path without permission.

Farid Aoued, aged 50 and residing in Pound Way, Oxford, entered a guilty plea for the incident that occurred in Barracks Lane, Oxford on May 13 the previous year.

The court imposed a fine of £133.

Additionally, Aoued was required to pay £85 toward prosecution expenses along with a £53 victim surcharge.

The court was informed that Aoued had operated a mechanically powered vehicle on a footpath without legal authorization.

This violates section 34(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 alongside Schedule 2 of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.

The court considered his guilty plea during the sentencing phase, and a recovery order was also put in place to guarantee compliance with the payment schedule.
