Jeremy Clarkson has shown support for a young girl after a pair of teenagers stole and wrecked the eggs she was selling to celebrate her birthday.

Maisie Willis had positioned a modest egg stall outside her family house when two hooded youths in Holbury, Southampton, knocked it down and made off with her goods.

The TV presenter described it as the most heartbreaking incident of the week in his column for a newspaper, sharing his worry about what he believes is a declining culture of entrepreneurship in Britain.

He wrote that the incident illustrates his belief that depending on state support has become the simpler option.

According to the controversial broadcaster, Maisie Willis looks after several chickens in the back garden of her Southampton home and offers the eggs for sale to people walking past from a table by the road.

He noted that during her commemoration of turning four, some troublemakers wearing balaclavas toppled her table and shattered every single egg. She had aspirations to make some pocket money and was acquiring commercial experience, but now she has discovered that existing on welfare is more straightforward.

The family later discovered the destroyed stall left on a nearby road, with Maisie’s ruined eggs scattered across the footpath.

Maisie’s mother, Chelsea Willis, eventually tracked down the two teenage culprits and received an apology.

The 28-year-old mother explained that two awful boys destroyed it completely and flung her eggs everywhere across the road. They have been required to say sorry, but it does not compensate for how distressed she feels. The family was hosting her birthday celebration, and those boys ruined it.
