A small luxury hotel is bringing back 1990s atmosphere for the upcoming bank holiday with an outdoor gathering featuring well-known DJs originally from Ibiza.

Experienced spinner Alex P (Petridis) and Lauren Thompson will serve as the main attractions at the Crazy Bear venue in Stadhampton, playing sets packed with timeless club favourites.

The Crazy Bear collection runs properties with dining facilities in Stadhampton and Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.

Resident DJs Ei Doc and Tony Nanton will also be spinning records during the afternoon-to-night occasion from 3pm until 8pm on Sunday, May 3.

The gathering for devotees of classic house music will take place in the Glasshouse and garden at the location.

Alex P is considered a pioneer in Ibiza’s house music movement and is credited with creating the famous terrace atmosphere at Space Ibiza.

In 1990, he obtained the inaugural residency at the Space Garden, introducing the open-air daytime party vibe that became synonymous with Ibiza.

Lauren Thompson is a DJ from East London, noted for blending genres such as soulful house, garage, disco, boogie, and rare groove. She frequently appears at venues in Ibiza.

Guy Leighton-Rees, events manager at Crazy Bear, said this daytime occasion appeals to those who value authentic anthems and aren’t prepared to cease dancing. The headline performers are perfect to kick off their summer programme of gatherings and celebrations.

Alex P commenced his DJ career in 1987 and was involved in the inaugural Ibiza dance movement during the early 1990s, holding residencies at Amnesia, Ku and Space.

He became the first DJ to work across various clubs on the island, establishing a pattern that every venue eventually followed by rotating their performers rather than maintaining a limited group of resident selectors throughout the summer.

Lauren Thompson presents a weekly programme on House FM and has performed at occasions including Groove Odyssey and Fabric.

Admission to the 90s House Garden Party is priced at £40.

The Crazy Bear in Stadhampton provides several dining choices, including its conventional English eatery, the recently refurbished Hom Thai restaurant, an external terrace and a traditional countryside pub.

In March, former Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Lifford Shillingford delivered a set at the hotel.

He was Alesha Dixon’s golden buzzer act on the TV talent show in 2018, with eight million people watching.

The singer has performed alongside artists including Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan and Craig David.

The hotel group experienced a management buyout at the start of 2025.
