Emergency services responded to a one-vehicle accident on a major road near the Oxfordshire boundary in the Northampton area.

Northamptonshire Police are seeking witnesses to the serious crash that took place on the A43 in Towcester, Northampton, at approximately 11.30am on Monday, April 27.

The incident, classified as a single-vehicle collision, happened on the southbound lane at the Towcester Road junction. The vehicle involved was a white Toyota Aygo being driven by the occupant.

The motorist, a woman aged between 50 and 59, was transported to hospital with injuries described as serious by authorities.

Investigators from the serious crime investigation unit are now requesting that anyone who witnessed the occurrence or possesses dashboard camera footage contact them.
