The following matters were heard at Oxford Magistrates’ Court:
Craig Pritchard, aged 43 and residing on Eynsham Road in Botley, Oxford, admitted to one charge of common assault and one charge of racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress through words or writing in Wheatley on October 27 the previous year. The court imposed costs of £250, a victim surcharge of £114 and compensation of £200. He must also follow the directions of the responsible officer to attend appointments for up to 10 days.
Antonio Jones, aged 59 and living on London Road in Headington, Oxford, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a community protection notice in Oxford on March 26 this year. He was fined £100.
Christopher Ley, aged 35 and of St Peters Place in Wallingford, admitted to two counts of drug driving in a Volkswagen Golf on Wantage Road in Wallingford on November 2 the previous year. Costs of £85 were awarded along with a fine of £1,066. He received a driving disqualification of 36 months.
Matthew Jakes, aged 37 and residing on Camm Drive in Milton, Abingdon, admitted to stealing goods worth £125 from a shop in Oxford on August 29 the previous year. He also admitted to driving a white Ford Focus on Walton Street in Oxford without third party insurance and without holding a valid driving licence on August 4 the previous year. The court imposed a victim surcharge of £64 and a fine of £160. He also received six penalty points.
Michael Turton, aged 43 and living on London Road in Headington, pleaded guilty to two charges of possessing offensive weapons in Headington on February 25 this year, specifically a hunting knife and knuckle dusters. He was ordered to pay £85 in costs and complete 100 hours of community service within 12 months. The hunting knife and knuckle dusters were ordered to be forfeited and destroyed.
Joseph French, aged 40 and of Cope Road in Banbury, admitted to displaying threatening, abusive writing, a sign or visible representation likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Banbury on December 19 the previous year. He also admitted to two charges of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Banbury on January 15 and February 24 this year. Costs of £85 and compensation of £100 were awarded. He must also complete a 12-month alcohol rehabilitation programme and comply with the directions of the responsible officer to attend appointments for a maximum of 15 days.
Kai Best-Braithwaite, aged 34 and residing on Larden Road in London, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis in Bicester on February 25 this year. He was ordered to pay costs of £85, a victim surcharge of £300 and a fine of £750. He was also disqualified from driving for 36 months.
Faiq Gulzar, aged 23 and of Rivermead Road in Oxford, admitted to drug driving in a Volkswagen Golf on Church Cowley Road in Oxford on November 23 the previous year. He was ordered to pay £85 in costs and comply with the directions of the responsible officer to attend appointments for up to six days. He must also complete 100 hours of unpaid work within 12 months and received a driving ban of 22 months.
