A medieval spectacular lasting three days will transport visitors back in time with knights, fortifications and codes of honour this spring.

The historic Blenheim Palace grounds will host its annual Jousting Tournament on the South Lawn from May 2 to 4, featuring live tilting contests, marksmanship displays, bird of prey shows and interactive experiences suitable for all ages.

Organisers say the occasion provides an impressive tribute to history, courage and medieval-themed amusement at the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A Blenheim Palace spokesperson explained that the gathering on the South Lawn encompasses live jousting displays, performers dressed in historical attire, and storytelling sessions as competitors wearing armour take part in various events.

Access to the Jousting Tournament needs either a current Palace & Gardens Ticket or valid Pass, which grants entry to Blenheim Palace and Adventure Play for a full twelve months, offering excellent value for families wanting to explore everything Britain’s Finest Palace provides.

Each day will include falconry performances, comic entertainment from court fools, and staged combat demonstrations.

Children attending can also meet Smokey the Dragon.

To support accessibility, Blenheim Palace will make parking available for guests with disabilities near the tournament area.

Regrettably, pet dogs cannot attend the event.

Visitors are advised to guard themselves against Blandford flies, which may be present on the South Lawn throughout May.

Guidance suggests wearing socks that cover the ankles and using insect repellent, especially near water features.
