Community Fury Forces Closure of Oxford Chinese Eatery

Published on

A Chinese eatery and delivery service in Oxfordshire has permanently closed after the owner spoke of a poisonous environment filled with ill will and bitterness.

The Wok Inn in Woodstock has ceased all operations indefinitely, with the proprietors outlining their reasoning in a message shared on their internet platform.

For over a decade, the venue traded from premises at 52 Oxford Street in this market town, serving the local population.

The establishment held a score of 4.4 stars based on more than 110 customer assessments on Google and was awarded the top marks for food safety standards in 2024.

Recently, residents of the surrounding area noted that the establishment had stopped trading, a detail that was subsequently verified through an official communication.

A message signed by ‘the last Wan standing’ expressed deep regret about the permanent closure.

The communication conveyed thanks for the wonderful years spent there, describing the location as the most welcoming and generous community the family had ever known.

The message also acknowledged gratitude for the tolerance and encouragement shown during the proprietor’s solo management of The Wok Inn.

The owner stated that creating customers’ meals and sharing meaningful exchanges had been genuinely appreciated, representing something that would be greatly missed.

The message continued by addressing negative feelings, with the business owner hoping that this would signify an unfortunate conclusion.

The communication added that unpleasant feelings had spread rapidly and expressed the wish that this would come to an unhappy finale with the owner’s departure.

It noted that the current climate feels peculiar, and in such circumstances, expressed hope that everyone would remain united and continue recognising the good aspects of life.

The message concluded with best wishes and good fortune to everyone.
