A new warrant officer has taken up post at RAF Brize Norton.

Sim Rezazadeh-Wilson has succeeded her husband Tug Wilson in the role of the installation’s most senior non-commissioned officer.

She will now be tasked with upholding discipline, standards and values at the air force’s largest establishment in West Oxfordshire.

WO Tug Wilson, who commenced this role in 2023, said it had been an honour and privilege to serve as the Station Warrant Officer at the biggest Royal Air Force station, describing it as the fulfilment of both a career objective and a lifelong ambition. He recalled there were many fond memories from working with the outstanding personnel at the base.

WO Rezazadeh-Wilson joins with more than twenty years of experience and intends to focus on maintaining high standards while supporting the welfare and development of the workforce.

She said she had been at RAF Brize Norton since 2002 and had personally seen how the station had evolved over the years. She noted the base served as both her workplace and her community, and she felt very proud and considered it a tremendous honour to be stepping into this significant role.

This change marks a notable milestone for the installation, as the responsibility has passed between married partners.

Station commander group captain Louise Henton said the Station Warrant Officer role was vital for setting benchmarks and acting as a voice for the personnel. She thanked WO Tug Wilson for his outstanding service and dedication to everyone connected with Brize Norton, and she warmly welcomed WO Sim Rezazadeh-Wilson to the position.
