A traffic stop conducted by Thames Valley Police’s rural crime taskforce near Oxford resulted in the apprehension of two individuals who had exceeded their immigration status. The encounter occurred during an early morning patrol on Saturday, April 25, when officers pulled over a Vauxhall vehicle due to poor driving. Upon inspection, the male driver was discovered to be operating without insurance and holding only a provisional licence. He was subsequently reported for these violations. The vehicle’s owner, who was seated as a passenger, had permitted his companion to drive so he could consume alcohol. He similarly possessed only a provisional licence. Both individuals were taken into custody after additional verification revealed they had overstayed their immigration permissions.
