A new ranking has placed Oxford among the top destinations for student entertainment in the United Kingdom, with the city offering a vibrant blend of cultural experiences and nightlife establishments.

The university city secured the 16th position in research conducted by accommodation provider Canvas, which evaluated elements including beverage costs, establishment quantity and quality, and community safety metrics.

Oxford provides students with 87 different venues, receiving an average score of 4.35 stars.

Despite an average drink price of £6.20 per pint, the city’s diverse selection of establishments maintains its appeal among the student population.

Bath emerged as the leading UK destination for student nightlife, featuring a dense concentration of bars and clubs with an outstanding average rating of 4.45 stars.

While hosting just 98 establishments, Bath delivers excellent accessibility at approximately 10 venues per 10,000 residents.

The typical beverage in Bath costs £5.75.

Manchester claimed the second spot, featuring the greatest total number of entertainment venues at 606 locations.

Establishments in Manchester received solid average ratings of 4.37 stars, with drinks averaging £5.50.

Coventry and Leicester were highlighted as the most economical options for student evenings out, with beverages starting at just £4.

These cities also provide the lowest-priced non-alcoholic options.

Coventry, Bath, and Exeter were identified as the safest locations for student entertainment.

Coventry achieved a safety rating of 70.04, followed by Bath at 66.12 and Exeter at 62.33.

London and Oxford were noted for their premium drink prices, with averages of £8 and £6.20 respectively.
